“I’m going to live life until the day I die. It’s something I know how to do, and its something I am hoping to pass on.”
“The conventional view of older people is negative – but we have wisdom. We have beauty. We have power. I believe we come into this world with a task: to make this world a better place. Something as small as smiling at somebody else on the bus has the power to change someone’s day, their life even. This makes us very powerful, because we can all have an impact in the world.
I want to prove that life need not get boring with age. We’re alive, we’re still alive. We’re alive until the day we die. This is my mission now – to tell older people like myself to keep a passion. We all have potential and it’s very important we recognise that. We still have time.”

TEMPO TIME CREDITS
We are Tempo Time Credits. Our vision is connected communities where everyone’s time is valued. We believe that everyone has something to give, we work best together and people make change happen. We use our community currency, Time Credits, to recognise the amazing contributions that people make in communities and improve the health and wellbeing of all.
WHAT ARE TIME CREDITS?
Time Credits are simple. You earn Time Credits by giving time to a community group or service. You spend Time Credits accessing fun activities at one of our partner venues. You can also gift your Time Credits to friends and family so they can enjoy themselves on you.
Our members have told us that earning and spending Time Credits helps them stay active, make new friends, learn new things and lead an improved quality of life. As part of this campaign, you will have the chance to try out the experience of earning and spending Time Credits.
“We have been to so many places we wouldn’t have otherwise experienced! It was amazing to feel the recognition for the time I had given.” – Angela, Time Credits member
LIVING LATER LIFE: CELEBRATING OLDER PEOPLE’S DAY
On 1st October 2019, we’re celebrating Older People’s Day by recognising the incredible lives of people over 50. Our Living Later Life campaign aims to change the perception of ageing and promote the many positives of later life.
Living Later Life aims to promote a positive image of ageing through storytelling. We want to support you to gather and share stories about the hopes, dreams, skills and talents of older people: stories that inspire more people aged 50+ to live later life to the full.
It’s time to challenge the stigma and stereotypes around ageing and shout about the joys of later life!
HOW CAN WE GET INVOLVED?
This year we are giving you the chance to apply for a limited number of Time Credits and up to £200 to support your own Older People’s Day celebration event and follow up group trip.
Whether you put on a community lunch, fete or disco, we want you to invite older members of the community to come together and tell stories that celebrate your hopes, dreams, talents and achievements.
In exchange, you will receive Time Credits to show just how valuable we think your time is. You will then be able to spend these Time Credits on a group trip that you organise to one of our amazing partner venues!*
STEP 1 Host your own Older People’s Day celebration event
STEP 2 Help us gather photos and stories that celebrate Living Later Life (and earn Time Credits)
STEP 3 Organise your own group trip to one of our spend partner venues (and spend Time Credits)
*to view the partner venues visit www.timecredits.com
