Celebrating the capital’s volunteers with Team London!

Londoners love to volunteer, as shown by the thousands of volunteers who stepped up to welcome visitors from around the world who came to watch the London 2012 Olympic Games.

What better way to celebrate their fantastic work than by teaming up with the Mayor of London’s Team London Ambassadors?

That’s why the Spice team are excited to partner with Team London to thank 600 of their Ambassadors for their contribution to the capital with Spice Time Credits.

To earn their Time Credits, Team London Ambassadors received training in June to run welcome pods that are stationed in tourist and travel hotspots across the capital.

This year’s volunteer cohort of 600 will use the pods to offer a friendly face and advice to visitors who need help navigating the city.

In return, each volunteer will receive six Time Credits, to spend as they wish from across Spice’s network of 700 venues and activities.

By helping tourists navigate the city, they’ll also be opening up the city to themselves by gaining access to sites like The Lord’s Cricket Ground, Barbican Cinema, Tower Bridge and Monument and the Thames Clippers – just some of our brilliant spend partners in London.

You can find out where else you can spend Time Credits in the latest London Spend Brochure.

Jen D’Souza, Senior Manager, Team London (Volunteering), Greater London Authority, said:

“We are thrilled to be working with Spice this year to distribute Spice Time Credits to our volunteers as one of ways to thank them for their enthusiasm and hard work. We distributed six Spice Team Credits to each Ambassador during training and they are very much looking forward to using them over the summer!”

Time Credits are a great way that we can show our appreciation for the valuable time that the Team London volunteers have dedicated towards making London a friendly, safe and enjoyable place for people to be.

If you spot a Team London Ambassador while you’re out and about in London, make sure you stop to thank them for volunteering and find out where they plan to spend their Spice Time Credits.
