David Royce – Chair of the Board

David chairs Emerging Futures CIC, two project boards providing support to care leavers, and is director of a digital development and training company. David was chief executive of the charity CRI for 19 years during which time it grew from a small local organisation to a leading national provider of health and social care services with a turnover of £116m and reserves of £14m. During his tenure, service user numbers grew from 90 people per annum to 42,000 per week. The charity was the largest single specialist provider of addiction recovery services in the UK, including the NHS Trusts.

Anna Lewis

Anna runs a portfolio of roles across the public and third sectors, including as an NHS non-executive director, a Trustee, an independent consultant and executive coach.  Her background is in NHS senior management, primarily in the design, delivery and improvement of integrated mental health and social care services.

Samantha Evans

Sam is the Innovation & Engagement Manager at VSO working on a DFID-funded ‘youth volunteering for development’ programme. Her primary responsibilities are developing and leading a global innovation strategy to enhance the programme and contribute to VSO’s leadership in the volunteering sector.

Neal Hounsell

Neal recently retired from a 40 year career in local government, working firstly as a librarian, then as an Audit Commission inspector and finally as a commissioner of housing, social care and public health services. Currently he volunteers as a befriender, works at his local foodbank and is a trustee for Tempo. He joined the Tempo Board in February 2018 having previously commissioned them to work in the City Of London and found it one of the most innovative and exciting projects he was involved with.

Adam Stanley

Adam manages innovation for West Midlands Police, identifying creative ways they can become more efficient at what they do and better serve their citizens.  Prior to this, he worked in retail management and a range of managerial roles on the railway.  Adam has won a number of regional and national awards for innovations to which he has contributed and has delivered significant benefits to his clients. Adam joined the Board in September 2018. His primary contribution is to our digital strategy and delivery.

Lucie Stephens

Lucie is the Head of Co-production at NEF. This involves working with citizens, people using public services, service professionals, commissioners and policy makers. Lucie has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, the BBC World Service and BBC Breakfast. She is currently working with parents to design and deliver parent-led childcare and with NHS England to support social movements that deliver health benefits.

Andrew Fox

Chief Design Officer & Head of Marketing at Peach, a digital advertising company. Andrew has three decades of experience in the design and user experience sector and is also an expert in branding and communications, all skills he brings to the development and execution of Tempo’s new strategy.

Tom Ebbutt

Tom is Managing Director of On Purpose, a community for leaders working to create an economy and society that works for all. He was previously Chief Operating Officer at Ambition School Leadership, a social enterprise which is England’s largest provider of development for school leaders working with disadvantaged communities, and a Venture Partner at Ark Ventures. Between 2010 and 2018 he was an elected Councillor on Hackney Council. He is a Trustee of the Social Market Foundation and chairs the Steering Committee of London’s largest resident-led social housing regeneration scheme.
